Tigers

Bandhavgarh, in the Madhya Pradesh state of India, was once the hunting reserve of the Maharaja of Rewa and his guests. It was constituted as a national park in 1968 and became a tiger reserve in 1993. There are currently about 135 tigers over one year old in the reserve. Bandhavgarh has one of the highest population densities of tigers in India and is possibly the best place to see them within the country, although they can be difficult to find within the dense forest.
