Kenroku-en is an old garden in Kanazawa, previously forming the outer garden of Kanazawa Castle. This photograph is of the famous Karasaki pine tree at the end of Kasumigaike Lake. The tree is surrounded by yukitsuri - ropes to protect the its branches from the weight of heavy wet snow.
